Discontent Among NDC Members in Talensi Over DCE Nomination

A group of discontented National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in the Talensi Constituency have expressed their strong opposition to the selection of John Millim Naabwomya as District Chief Executive (DCE). The group has raised concerns about Naabwomya’s purported close associations with the rival New Patriotic Party (NPP), warning that his appointment could jeopardize the NDC’s prospects in the 2028 elections.

The contentious nomination, made public last Friday, April 11, was closely followed by an apparent arson incident that ravaged the NDC’s constituency office. In the wake of these events, Charles King Luu, speaking on behalf of the aggrieved party members at a press conference in Tongo on Sunday, April 13, urged President John Mahama to rescind Naabwomya’s nomination. Luu emphasized the need to prioritize party unity and bolster local support.

In other news, Awula Serwah criticized the government’s rationale for deporting foreign nationals linked to illegal mining (galamsey), deeming the justification insufficient.
