From Obinim to Nigel Gaisie: The two pastors who have recently ‘called out’ Ken Agyapong

Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong is under renewed scrutiny—not from political rivals, but from two controversial figures in Ghana’s prophetic community. Bishop Daniel Obinim and Prophet Nigel Gaisie have both come forward with sharp rebukes, accusing Agyapong of hypocrisy and spiritual misconduct.

Bishop Obinim, addressing his congregation on June 15, 2025, claimed Agyapong’s presidential aspirations were sparked by pressure from religious allies, not personal intent. Known for his past confrontations with religious leaders, Agyapong has taken a noticeably quieter stance—something Obinim attributes to his political ambitions.

“He’s gone silent because he wants to be president,” Obinim said. “If he knew this was his path, those battles with me and others might never have happened.”
Prophet Nigel Gaisie echoed similar sentiments on June 23, warning via social media that Agyapong’s past remarks against churches and prophets come with spiritual consequences. Gaisie alleged that some prophetic figures have died as a result of Agyapong’s attacks.

“You can’t insult the church and expect to lead a nation,” Gaisie warned. “God has spoken. We’re watching, and when the time is right, the power of the prophets will speak.”
As the 2025 election season heats up, it seems the spiritual realm is weighing in on Ghana’s political theatre—with Agyapong at the center of it once again.
