Being recruited into Ghana Armed Forces in 2025 is open to applicants in all 16 regions. The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has introduced a regional recruitment system to make the process accessible and fair.

Regional Recruitment Exercise

This year, the exercise will run in all 16 regional capitals. The aim is to give equal opportunity to qualified Ghanaians, no matter where they live.

GAF has urged applicants to rely only on official sources such as the GAF website and state-owned media like Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times. Fraudulent adverts on social media, WhatsApp, or from individuals must be ignored.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth
  • Age between 18 and 25 years (up to 27 for tradesmen) by December 2025
  • Unmarried and not bonded
  • Minimum height: 1.68 m for men, 1.57 m for women (military police: 1.75 m men, 1.70 m women)
  • Pass medical exams
  • Hold six credits at BECE including English and Mathematics
  • Additional passes at WASSCE or equivalent, depending on service branch

Recruitment Process

The steps include:

  1. Purchase a scratch card
  2. Complete the online application
  3. Attend regional screening
  4. Undergo fitness and medical tests
  5. Take part in interviews where required

National Recruitment Target

Government plans to recruit 12,000 new personnel in the coming years. GAF has warned that any fraud attempts during the exercise will face strict action.
