Minority Donates CFA2m to Aid Ghanaian Refugees in Côte d’Ivoire

The CFA2m donation to Ghanaian refugees came from the Minority in Parliament to support displaced Ghanaians in Vonkoro, Bouna Region of Côte d’Ivoire. The aid follows conflict in Ghana’s Savannah Region, where over 40 people died and 40,000 fled. About 13,000 crossed into Côte d’Ivoire, with 8,000 later returning.

During the presentation, Nana Asafo-Adjei-Ayeh, leader of the Minority delegation, said the money would ease hardships and expressed hope for a resolution that allows the refugees to return home.

Kawuro Kwasi David, Assemblyman and leader of the refugees, thanked the MPs, noting the support would improve their stay. Refugees also urged the Minority to continue pressing government for their safe return.
