MPs with perfect attendance list first 2025 session

MPs with perfect attendance list first session was published this week, naming 34 members of Ghana’s Parliament who attended all 43 sittings held from January to March 2025. The attendance audit covers the legislative activities spanning the first quarter and underscores a rare show of full commitment to parliamentary duties.

Among those recognised are Hon. Felicia Adjei (Kintampo South), Hon. Michael Kwasi Aidoo (Oforikrom), and Hon. Yusif Suhuyini (Sissala West) who all posted perfect records with no authorised absenteeism. The Speaker of Parliament welcomed the outcome, observing that full attendance at every session is achievable and could become the new standard for legislative duty.

The report reveals that these 34 legislators managed continuous presence at every sitting despite competing responsibilities outside the chamber, including committee work, constituency engagements, and national events. Their performance is being lauded by parliamentary watchers as a positive step toward stronger oversight and representative governance.

By contrast, a separate audit disclosed a group of 28 MPs who recorded multiple absences without permission in the same period—highlighting a disparity in attendance discipline.

Civil society analysts applauded the publication of the list, calling for continued transparency and periodic releases of attendance data. They argued that public access to such information supports accountability and validates the democratic process. However, they also warned that recognition must be accompanied by meaningful incentive systems and consequences for poor attendance.
