MzGee Shuts Down Trolls Over Depression Claims: “Come to My Page and See”

Ghanaian Media Personality MzGee Fires Back at Online Critics

Gloria Akpene Nyarku, popularly known as MzGee, has spoken out strongly against social media trolls accusing her of being depressed. The former TV3 presenter and current host of United Showbiz addressed the situation on her show, Gee O’clock, after receiving backlash for a cheerful video she posted online.

Trolls Misinterpret Joyful Moment

In the video, MzGee was seen joyfully jumping and dancing in a garden while preparing for an event. However, what was meant to be a lighthearted and fun moment sparked negative reactions from some users online, who claimed her behavior was a sign of hidden sadness or depression.

Expressing her frustration, MzGee asked why people would choose to see something so negative in a moment of visible happiness. She referred to these individuals as “sadists” who derive pleasure from projecting misery onto others.

“I Will Respond If You Troll Me”

MzGee didn’t mince words when addressing how she deals with online negativity. While some fans urged her to take the high road and ignore the trolls, MzGee made it clear she doesn’t always believe in staying silent.

“I don’t always want to be the bigger person. I’m sorry. Some people need to be put in their place. When someone misbehaves under my post, did you see them or not?”

She warned that if she’s ever free and has time, she’ll respond directly—and unapologetically—to any offensive comments.

Fake Accounts and Targeted Harassment

MzGee also shared how some trolls go as far as creating multiple fake accounts to continue harassing her after being blocked. This, she noted, often leads others to join in, creating a toxic cycle of online bullying.

Tired of Unfair Comparisons

Aside from the depression claims, MzGee also condemned the habit of comparing her to other public figures. She urged people to stop drawing unnecessary parallels, especially when they come from a place of malice.

A History of Standing Up for Herself

MzGee has been vocal about cyberbullying in the past. Earlier this year, she made headlines when she opened up about welcoming her first child and her divorce from ex-husband Raymond Acquah. In 2023, she clapped back at a troll who called her incompetent after she took over the United Showbiz show on UTV.

Social Media Reactions

Fans were quick to rally behind MzGee, applauding her for standing up against online toxicity. Here’s what some had to say:

Rejoice Amuzu:

“Mamagah, don’t listen to them. Dust every toxic person out of your lane.”

Joyce Tawiah:

“People are just bitter seeing someone happy. Give it to them, sis. No room for nonsense.”

Alice Baiddo:

“Some people are genuinely mean and bitter in this life. 😔 Leave such people to God.”
