National Service Registration Opens Oct 8: Service Year Begins Nov 3

National Service registration opens Oct 8

The National Service registration opens Oct 8 for the 2025/26 year, and the service year will officially begin on November 3, the National Service Authority (NSA) has announced. Prospective personnel must re-register on the new digital platform, following the nullification of earlier registrations.

Why Re-Registration Is Required

A technical and forensic audit of the previous Central Service Management Platform (CSMP) exposed significant flaws in data integrity, such as mismatches in identity and age records. In response, President John Mahama instructed that the system be redesigned for stronger transparency, better data security, and real-time verification.
Due to these findings, all registrations from June 2025 were declared null and void. The NSA directed that every prospective national service personnel complete registration anew on the upgraded system. The authority also assured that legitimate registrants from June will receive refunds of their service fees.

Registration Timeline & Process

  • Start / End Dates: Registration will begin on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and close on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
  • Platform Use: The new platform will manage all applications, ensuring better record keeping and verification.
  • Reimbursement: Those who registered in June and whose applications were valid will have their fees refunded.
  • Reporting & Service Start: Applicants must report to their assignments on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The service year formally begins on Monday, November 3, 2025.

What This Means for Applicants

Every applicant from the June exercise must start afresh on the new portal—none of the old registrations will be accepted. This move aims to restore trust in the process, reduce errors, and ensure that only eligible individuals are verified and deployed.
