The recently appointed Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Cong Song, met with Ghana’s Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed–Mubarak, in a crucial diplomatic engagement aimed at fortifying the relationship between the two nations. The discussions centered around enhancing cooperation and tackling shared challenges.
Ambassador Song highlighted the Ministry of the Interior’s pivotal role in ensuring peace and stability in Ghana. He emphasized China’s readiness to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties by collaborating closely with the Ministry. The Ambassador underlined the importance of lawful conduct by Chinese nationals in Ghana and expressed China’s willingness to support Ghana’s initiatives against illegal mining, advocating for sustainable practices that benefit both countries.
Hon. Muntaka acknowledged the productive partnership between Ghana and China, particularly commending the Chinese Embassy’s efforts in fostering positive relations. He stressed the need for ongoing collaboration, particularly in capacity building and technology exchange, to bolster Ghana’s security forces.
Both officials expressed optimism about the future of Ghana-China relations, reaffirming their commitment to peace, security, and development. The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to pursue shared interests through continued cooperation.
