In a recent social media post, comedian OB Amponsah has openly criticized Louisa Laryea, the wife of veteran broadcaster Israel Laryea, for her comments regarding media personality Lily Mohammed. This controversy arose after Laryea publicly admonished Mohammed for her opinions on the Ghanaian passport issued to American streamer IShowSpeed.
Amponsah’s remarks, shared on January 28, 2026, highlight a recurring issue he sees with Laryea’s behavior on social platforms, particularly her tendency to insult and body-shame others. He emphasized the detrimental effects such comments can have on individuals’ mental well-being, stating, “How is Louisa Laryea always the first to call people names and body shame them when the only thing relevant about her is her husband’s surname?”
The comedian also revisited a past altercation with Laryea, recalling an incident from 2022 where she allegedly insulted him and attacked his family. He described how their conversation began with her identifying herself as Israel Laryea’s wife before she proceeded to criticize him harshly. Amponsah recounted, “There I was, on the phone, hoping she had a gig for me, not knowing she was about to berate me for this joke.” He further claimed that she used social media to amplify her insults, threatening him and blocking those who disagreed with her.
Amponsah concluded his comments by reinforcing that their feud is far from over, promising to continue addressing the issues that arise. His remarks have sparked discussions on social media about the responsibilities of public figures and the impact of their words.
