Counting Underway in NPP Presidential Primaries: Key Updates

The counting process has officially commenced for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries as of January 31, 2026, following the conclusion of voting at 2 PM. An impressive turnout saw approximately 211,000 party members participating across more than 300 polling locations nationwide.

Security measures were notably stringent, ensuring a peaceful voting atmosphere throughout the day. Voters were eager to support one of the five prominent candidates vying for the party’s nomination for the upcoming 2028 general elections. These candidates include former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
