ECG Launches Nationwide ‘Operation All Must Pay’ Campaign to Recover Outstanding Electricity Bills

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has officially announced a nationwide revenue mobilization initiative, titled “Operation All Must Pay,” aimed at addressing outstanding customer arrears and enhancing financial sustainability. This campaign is set to run from Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 18, 2024.

Dr. Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, ECG’s General Manager of External Communication, emphasized that the initiative targets all customer categories, including residential, commercial, industrial, and government sectors. Special teams will be deployed across the country to ensure compliance and actively monitor issues such as illegal electricity connections and unauthorized reconnections.

Unpaid electricity bills have been identified as a significant challenge affecting the company’s operational and financial viability. Dr. Ayiku stressed the importance of timely bill payments to avoid service disconnections and additional fees associated with reconnection. Customers are encouraged to use secure and official payment channels, particularly the ECG Mobile App, available on the Google Play Store, to ensure transaction safety and to avoid falling victim to scams promoting fictitious payment methods.

The campaign will not only focus on payment recovery but will also include meter inspection activities to verify meter integrity and resolve any operational concerns raised by customers. ECG urges all customers with outstanding balances to settle their debts promptly to prevent service interruptions.

For further details and continuous updates, customers are advised to visit ECG’s official website or follow their verified social media channels.
