Deadline Extended for SHS Selection Process
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has extended the deadline for the 2025 Senior High School (SHS) selection process to Wednesday, June 25, 2025. This move is aimed at giving Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates additional time to complete their school choices properly.
Private SHSs Now Included in the Selection List
According to GES, the extension was necessary following the integration of selected private SHSs into the placement system. A supplementary register featuring these newly added private institutions has been provided to assist students in making more informed decisions.
Communication to All Schools and Stakeholders
In a statement, GES has directed all Regional Directors of Education to inform their respective Metro, Municipal, and District Directors. School heads are also expected to relay this update to all final-year Junior High School (JHS) students. The service emphasized that this extension is to ensure students, together with their parents and teachers, have enough time to review the updated options carefully.
Guidelines Remain the Same
GES further clarified that aside from the addition of private SHSs, all other selection guidelines and procedures remain unchanged. Candidates are strongly encouraged to seek guidance from trusted adults before finalizing their school choices.
