The Ghana Education Service has sacked 10 teachers under their watch for various offences including sexual misconduct and stealing in their respective schools. Six of the teachers were found guilty of sexual misconduct while four others were found guilty of stealing and one other, was found guilty of defilement by an investigative committee set up by the Education Service and convicted by a court. A statement copied sighted by Yen.com.gh confirming the disciplinary measures against staff showed that the teachers were serving in various parts of the country at both secondary and tertiary levels.
The Ghana Education Service has sanctioned the following teachers for breaching aspects of the Code of Professional Conduct of the education service for sexual or immoral misconduct and have had their appointments terminated They are Vincent Nii Armah 0too of the St. Francis SHTS at Akim Oda, Kester Ansah Djan of the Benkum SHS in Larteh — Akuapem, Adjetey Anum James of the Okumaning Ugars Basic, Okumaning , Bright Akpalu of the Akwatia Presby SHS in Akwatia, William Akompong – Nyankumasi SHS in Assin Nyankumasi, and Robert Seppey, of the Adumanu D/A Basic School in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Meanwhile, the GES has dismissed the following education service workers that were convicted of stealing by the Court. They are Comfort Oduro Bruce of Ghana Secondary School, Koforidua, Alfred Kumah Regional Education Office, Koforidua and Kwasi Agyeman of SDA SHS Koforidua.
Wiayuga Mumuni a tutor of the United Basic School at Tumu in the Upper West region has been dismissed from the service after he was convicted of defilement. The decision was taken after they went through the due process at all levels from the school to the GES Council. This action by the education service is to serve as a deterrent to others who have the intention of doing similar things.
