The Ghana Card issuance for children aged 6-14 has officially commenced, the National Identification Authority (NIA) has confirmed. The program, launched on 6 October 2025, targets children between six and fourteen who have already completed registration.
In its opening phase, the rollout will cover 56 districts across the country. The distribution will take place at the same schools where the children were registered. Each child must be physically present at the pick‐up, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and must bring the registration receipt—Form A—issued during the registration exercise.
The NIA also assured that all backlogs of unprinted Ghana Cards had been cleared prior to this initiative Districts not included in the initial rollout will be covered in the coming days, according to Authority statements.
Parents and guardians are urged to cooperate with the Authority to ensure a smooth, efficient process across regions.
