The Ghana Police Service has initiated an intensive search for a group of armed robbers responsible for the tragic death of two police officers in Poyamirea, near Binduri. This incident occurred on Sunday, April 13, when the officers, dressed in plain clothes, were ambushed by the assailants while traveling on a private motorbike from Bongo to Binduri. After the attack, the robbers fled with the officers’ motorbike.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Director of Public Affairs, released a statement acknowledging the gravity of the incident while withholding the identities of the slain officers to first inform their families in accordance with traditional practices.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the bereaved families, the Regional Commander, and all our officers,” the Police Administration expressed, underscoring their commitment to support the affected region. The police have also reassured the public of their ongoing efforts to track down the criminals and ensure they face justice.
ACP Ansah-Akrofi emphasized, “The perpetrators of this heinous crime will be arrested and face justice. We are determined to apprehend them.”
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, as the police intensify their manhunt to bring those responsible to account for their actions.
