Goalkeeper Richard Ofori Eyes 2026 World Cup Black Stars Spot

Richard Ofori Eyes 2026 World Cup ambitions as the Ghanaian goalkeeper declares his desire to play for the Black Stars again. The AmaZulu shot-stopper has set a clear goal—to earn a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ofori has been a steady presence in South African football. He last represented Ghana during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. Although Ghana exited the tournament early, he refused to let that disappointment end his international career. Instead, he remains focused on proving his quality through hard work at club level.

In an interview with iDiski Times, Ofori stressed the importance of playing regularly. “You can’t sit on the bench and expect to be part of the World Cup team,” he said. “My goal is to help AmaZulu and stay consistent. That’s the only way to get noticed.”

Ofori also praised Ghana’s recent qualification for their fifth World Cup appearance. He congratulated the players and technical staff who made it possible. He added that representing the country is always a privilege and a dream worth fighting for.

The goalkeeper admitted that he has not spoken recently with coach Otto Addo. However, he believes the national selectors are watching every player. “Even when I’m not called up, I support the team,” he said. “Unity and teamwork keep us strong.”

Ofori’s motivation remains high. His immediate plan is to maintain excellent form for AmaZulu and continue improving every week. He believes consistent performances will earn him another chance with the national team. His ultimate dream is to represent Ghana again on the global stage at the 2026 World Cup.
