Israel Laryea Addresses Controversy Involving Wife and Journalist

Journalist Israel Laryea has publicly defended his wife, Louisa Laryea, amidst a heated exchange with GHOne TV journalist Lily Mohammed. The incident ignited when Mohammed criticized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its decision to issue a Ghanaian passport to American streamer IShowSpeed. In response, Louisa took to Facebook to voice her disagreement, which led to allegations of body-shaming against her.

The online backlash against Louisa’s comments included criticism from several social media figures, notably media personality Nana Aba Anamoah, who expressed her disapproval of the remarks. In light of the escalating situation, Israel decided to share his views through an Instagram post, revealing that he had discussed the matter with his wife.

According to Israel, Louisa clarified that her comments were not intended to body-shame Lily Mohammed. He emphasized the complexity of communication, stating, “There’s one thing about what you say and another about how people interpret it.” Louisa expressed regret over the misunderstanding but maintained that her intentions were misinterpreted.

Israel extended an apology to Lily Mohammed, stating, “If Lily felt offended, sorry, but that was definitely not the intention.” He also addressed critics who commented on his marriage, urging them to focus on their own relationships instead of their opinions on his family.

He defended Louisa’s appearance against negative remarks, highlighting her beauty and resilience as a mother of three at the age of 52. “Create a human, let’s see how you fare,” he challenged detractors. Israel concluded his post by urging so-called friends who participated in the trolling to engage in private discussions for context rather than joining the public mockery.
