Nana Agradaa Convicted for Fraud and Charlatanic Advertisements

Accra, July 3, 2025 — The Accra Circuit Court has convicted Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, for engaging in charlatanic advertisements and defrauding by false pretence.

Agradaa, the self-proclaimed evangelist and founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry at Weija, was found guilty on multiple counts. The court’s final sentencing, however, is currently on hold—pending the outcome of a pregnancy test to determine whether she is expecting.

The Scam: Money Doubling Deception

According to court records, Nana Agradaa used her Today-TV channel and social media platforms to promote deceptive money-doubling schemes. She called on followers to attend an all-night service, urging them to bring money with the promise of doubling it.

The prosecution revealed that six official complainants, along with over a thousand others, fell victim to her claims—offering large sums of money with hopes of quick returns. However, Agradaa failed to fulfill any part of her promises.

“The accused successfully demanded and received huge sums of money from members of the public, including those listed in the charge sheet,” the court documents stated.

Further investigations found that she did not act alone, collaborating with others to orchestrate the fraudulent scheme.

🕊️Awaiting Sentencing

Nana Agradaa now awaits sentencing, which could see her serve 15 years in prison. A final decision will be made after a court-ordered pregnancy verification test is completed.

This conviction highlights growing concern over spiritual and financial exploitation in Ghana, and signals a stern warning from the judiciary about deceptive religious practices cloaked in faith.
