In a display of unity and satisfaction, Mr. Abubakari Yakubu, a prominent figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Sunyani East, extended his congratulations to the party following a successful presidential primary. Mr. Yakubu, known in political circles as ‘Baba Amando,’ emphasized that the recent electoral success underscores the party’s steadfast dedication to democratic principles.
During an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he remarked, ‘The triumph we have achieved is not merely a reflection of our internal strength, but also a testament to our resolve to confront our primary competitor, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as we approach the 2028 elections.’ He noted that the NPP’s resilience in fostering democracy, even in turbulent times, has gained recognition on a global scale.
Mr. Yakubu pointed out that this successful internal election has likely caused considerable concern for their main rival, stating, ‘Our party’s members are now emboldened, prepared to engage actively in the upcoming electoral contest.’ As he aspires to take on the role of the Bono Regional Communications Officer for the NPP, he expressed optimism, stating, ‘We have rekindled the passion for our party and achieved remarkable milestones once again.’
He further articulated the need for the Sunyani East constituency to enhance its operational capacity, specifically highlighting the requirement for two additional vehicles to facilitate re-organization efforts. ‘We are committed to redefining our communication strategies to resonate with the citizens of Ghana and to secure a definitive victory against our rivals in the forthcoming elections,’ he added.
