NPP Launches Media Accreditation for 2025 Delegates Congress

With just five days to go before the highly anticipated 2025 National Delegates Congress, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened its media accreditation process. This move is aimed at ensuring smooth access and effective coverage for journalists reporting on the crucial political event.

Digital Accreditation for Smooth Access

Scheduled for Saturday, July 19, at the University of Ghana, Legon, the Congress is set to choose the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 elections and endorse new national executives. To streamline media participation, the party’s media subcommittee introduced an online application system via Google Forms.

In a statement dated Saturday, July 12, the party urged media houses to submit applications digitally. Accreditation badges will be available for pickup starting Friday, July 18 at 12:00 p.m.

Media Village and Facilities for Coverage

A key innovation for this year’s Congress is the introduction of a “media village” — a centralized workspace for journalists. It will offer essential infrastructure, including areas for interviews, live reporting, and comfortable working conditions.

The NPP will also provide a clean audio/video feed, enabling media outlets to broadcast high-quality, unedited content from the main stage. Commentary studios will be available in both English and Twi, ensuring broader reach across Ghana’s diverse audience base.

Support for Regional Media and Technical Readiness

To aid media houses outside Greater Accra, the party has set up satellite connectivity for live reporting. A dedicated support desk will also operate throughout the event to assist with technical or access issues.

The committee has strongly advised media outlets to complete their setup at least 12 hours before the Congress begins to avoid last-minute complications.

A Landmark Event in Ghana’s Political Calendar

The NPP Delegates Congress is a cornerstone of Ghana’s democratic process. It draws over 6,000 delegates from all 16 regions and the diaspora, including MPs, party executives, and founding members.

This year’s Congress is especially significant as the party gears up for a potential third consecutive term in the 2028 general elections—a feat no political party has achieved in Ghana’s Fourth Republic.

Conclusion: Transparency Through Media Access

By modernizing its media accreditation process and enhancing support infrastructure, the NPP is emphasizing transparency and broad public engagement. Journalists can now register via the party’s official communication channels for full access to the upcoming Congress.
