NPP’s Henry Nana Boakye Rejects Claims Linking KNUST Stabbing Incident to Bawumia-Agyapong Rivalry

The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, commonly known as Nana B, has firmly denied any connections between the recent stabbing of a KNUST student and the alleged rivalry between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong. In discussing The Pulse on JoyNews, Nana B labelled the speculation as a “false narrative.”

Boakye emphasised the importance of not politicising the incident prematurely, highlighting that police investigations are underway. “The police are looking into the matter, and as National Organizer, I oppose framing this incident as related to Kennedy Agyapong and Dr. Bawumia,” he remarked with conviction.

Nana B referenced an earlier statement by the party, which clarified that the event bore no correlation to internal party disputes. “I’m pleased with the official statement that cleared the air on this matter,” he stated.

Addressing the withdrawal of Kennedy Agyapong from the NPP’s Thank You tour, Nana Boakye expressed understanding and respect for Agyapong’s decision. He acknowledged reports indicating that some of Agyapong’s supporters were involved with the Unity Hall attendees, potentially influencing Agyapong’s choice to step back. “I agree with Kennedy’s decision to withdraw in solidarity with the incident,” Boakye noted.

Despite various claims, Nana Boakye staunchly refuted the notion that any rivalry between Agyapong and Bawumia tarnished the Thank You tour. “The circulating narrative that suggests our tour is troubled by internal rivalry is simply not true,” he asserted.
