Prophet Kofi Oduro Urges Pastors to Avoid Politics in Church

In a recent sermon, Senior Pastor Kofi Oduro of the Alabaster International Ministry has expressed a strong stance against the involvement of clergy in political matters. His remarks, which have gained traction on social media, were made following the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.

During his address, Oduro emphasized the importance of maintaining the church’s focus on spiritual guidance rather than diverting attention to political endorsements. He urged his fellow pastors to prioritize their core mission of preaching the gospel and winning souls for Christ.

“We have a gospel to proclaim and souls to win. Let’s refrain from using the pulpit for political nonsense,” Oduro stated, highlighting the need for the church to remain a sanctuary for spiritual matters instead of a platform for political discourse.

The pastor further critiqued the moral character of many politicians, suggesting that they often exhibit behaviors that are not aligned with spiritual values. “Many of these politicians show little regard for God and spiritual principles. Why should we focus on them?” he questioned.

Oduro’s comments came amidst a backdrop of predictions made by various prophets regarding the outcomes of the NPP primaries, with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerging as the party’s candidate for the upcoming 2028 general elections. Notably, some prophets who had publicly predicted other results have faced backlash, prompting them to reconsider their public prophecies.

This call to action from Prophet Oduro serves as a reminder for religious leaders to adhere to their spiritual responsibilities and avoid the distractions of political engagement.
