Residents in multiple regions of Ghana should brace for scheduled power interruptions as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) initiates maintenance works intended to enhance service quality. The disruptions are set to commence on Sunday, February 8, 2026, and will persist through Friday, February 13, 2026.
The ECG has released a detailed notice, outlining that areas impacted will include parts of Accra East, Accra West, Central Region, and the Tema Region. Notably, the largest outage is anticipated in the Tema Region on Thursday, February 12, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Specific localities slated for power cuts include Yilo and Lower Manya Krobo, Adukrom, Akorley Pumping Station, Akuse, Asutsuare, and numerous surrounding areas. The company has expressed its regret for any disruption these necessary works may cause.
In Accra East, staggered outages are scheduled over several days. On February 8, the areas of GIMPA, Kisseman, Achimota School, and parts of Abelemkpe will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Further interruptions are planned for February 10, 11, and 12, affecting East Legon, Lakeside Estate, and Tutu, among others.
Accra West will also see significant outages, particularly on February 11, impacting Fadama, Kwashieman, and several other neighborhoods. The ECG aims to minimize the inconvenience while ensuring the integrity of its power supply.
