In a significant legal development, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reached out to the management of dancehall artist Shatta Wale, requesting his consent for the export of his yellow Lamborghini Urus to the United States. This request has raised eyebrows, given the vehicle’s alleged connections to illicit activities.
Sammy Flex, the Public Relations Manager for the Shatta Movement, confirmed the receipt of the court documents on February 24, 2026. He stated that the matter has been referred to the legal representatives of Shatta Wale for the appropriate action. “We acknowledge the court’s request regarding the shipment of the Lamborghini, and our legal team is currently addressing this issue through the proper channels,” he announced on social media.
The controversy surrounding the Lamborghini emerged after EOCO conducted a raid on Shatta Wale’s residence on August 5, 2025, seizing the vehicle amid claims linking it to criminal activities in the United States. According to EOCO’s Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer, this operation was initiated following a request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Sources indicate that the Lamborghini Urus is tied to Nana Kwabena Amuah, a convicted individual currently serving an 86-month prison sentence in the U.S. for various financial crimes. EOCO officials stated that Shatta Wale was unable to present satisfactory proof of ownership or documentation demonstrating a legitimate purchase of the vehicle.
In previous interrogations, Shatta Wale reportedly could not identify the seller of the Lamborghini, claiming that their communication occurred via WhatsApp, and he no longer possesses the seller’s contact information. This lack of clarity has contributed to the ongoing scrutiny faced by the artist.
The situation continues to evolve as Shatta Wale’s team navigates the legal complexities surrounding the shipment request. Fans and observers alike are keenly watching how this high-profile case will unfold.
