The UG Corporate Football League’s Match Week 8 delivered an evening filled with thrilling football action in Group A. The highlight was the opening match between the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the Ghana Football Association (GFA). GFA dominated the game, thanks to stellar performances from Augustus Quaye and Eric Donkor, who each scored twice. Despite a late consolation goal by Samuel Arthur for GIMPA, GFA secured a decisive 4-1 victory.
In a closely contested second match, the University of Ghana faced off against Bui Power Authority. Bui Power took an early lead with Bright Agyekum’s precise goal in the 17th minute. Their solid defense thereafter ensured a narrow but vital 1-0 win over the University of Ghana.
Another intense game unfolded between Goil and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). Goil emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline, courtesy of goals from Wesley Nortey and Nana Kwaku Fosu, while GNPC’s Charles Asante kept the competition fierce until the final whistle.
The evening continued with Lancaster Accra facing Stanbic Bank. Divine Adjamli and Daniel Agyekum were instrumental in Lancaster’s commanding performance, leading their team to a decisive victory.
The night concluded with a much-anticipated clash between the Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club (GAFOSC) and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). As top contenders in the league, both teams displayed formidable defense, resulting in a gripping 0-0 draw that kept spectators engaged throughout.
