Vice President JD Vance Responds to Vandalism Incident at Ohio Home

In a concerning incident, a man was apprehended for allegedly vandalizing the Cincinnati residence of Vice President JD Vance. According to the Secret Service, the individual, identified as 26-year-old William Defoor from Cincinnati, reportedly shattered multiple windows and damaged a vehicle at the property.

The alleged vandalism occurred during the early morning hours, with authorities confirming that the Vice President and his family were not present at the time. The residence was empty, allowing for no injuries during the incident.

Secret Service agents detained Defoor shortly after midnight, leading to charges including vandalism, obstruction of official business, and criminal trespass as stated by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Vice President Vance took to social media to express his appreciation for the swift response from law enforcement. He remarked, “It appears a disturbed individual attempted to break in by forcefully hammering the windows.”

Vance and his wife, Usha, have owned the property since 2018, having purchased it for approximately $1.4 million. Their home is located in the East Walnut Hills neighborhood, a scenic area situated along the Ohio River and just east of downtown Cincinnati.
