Rev. Owusu-Bempah Shares Why He Lives with 10 Majestic Eagles
Reverend Isaac Owusu-Bempah, founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, has revealed a surprising and deeply personal passion—his love for animals, especially eagles. In a recent interview with broadcaster Dan Kwaku Yeboah, the renowned pastor opened up about keeping ten large eagles at his private residence, a rare sight in any home.
A Rare and Spiritual Connection with Eagles
Rev. Owusu-Bempah described the majestic birds as a symbol of strength, power, and spiritual depth, qualities he says resonate strongly with his faith and calling.
“Eagles are very hard to come by… they live in the wild,” he said. “But I have ten huge eagles. I love animals. I also have parrots and doves from the U.S., and some eagles from Africa. I even keep peacocks.”
His admiration for the eagle goes beyond aesthetics—he believes the bird embodies divine traits that align with spiritual leadership and prophetic vision.
Painful Lessons and New Wisdom
However, Owusu-Bempah’s journey with the powerful birds hasn’t been easy. He recounted the unfortunate death of his first eagle, which he attributes to a lack of proper knowledge about the bird’s dietary and physical needs.
“The first eagle I had was as big as a turkey. We gave it meat three times a day, but since it wasn’t flying, it couldn’t digest the food properly—and it died,” he shared with a heavy heart.
Determined to prevent such losses, he consulted a veterinarian and turned to online resources to understand how eagles live in the wild. That led to a major shift in how he cared for the birds.
“Eagles don’t eat every day. They need flight to digest food. Now we feed them once every three days and make sure not to overfeed—especially if they aren’t flying much. That’s what keeps them alive and healthy.”
A Home Built for Eagles
To support the birds’ natural behavior, the pastor had a custom enclosure built at his new home to allow the eagles space to fly. This thoughtful setup ensures they remain strong, agile, and in tune with their wild instincts, even while in captivity.
