✈️ Ghana Achieves Record-Breaking $4.8 Billion in Tourism Revenue in 2024
Accra, July 6, 2025 – Ghana’s tourism sector recorded its highest revenue ever in 2024, raking in $4.8 billion from more than 1.2 million international arrivals, according to the Ghana Tourism Authority’s (GTA) newly released annual report.
Despite global economic headwinds, the industry maintained strong momentum, fueled by targeted marketing, strategic partnerships, and vibrant cultural experiences.
📈 Double-Digit Growth in Arrivals and Revenue
Mrs. Marilyn Maame Efua Houadjeto, CEO of the GTA, highlighted a 12% year-on-year growth in visitor arrivals—driven primarily by travelers from the United States, Nigeria (up 25%), and the United Kingdom.
“Despite global and regional economic pressures, Ghana’s tourism sector maintained a strong upward trajectory. International arrivals increased, domestic tourism grew, and we diversified our offerings to create memorable visitor experiences,” she stated.
