Child Rights International has lashed out at the Achimota School. This is after it rejected a directive by the GES to admit two Rastafarian students. The Rastafarian was earlier denied entrance into the school system.
Executive Director of the outfit Bright Appiah observes that the school does not have an interest in the welfare of children. And if he was a parent he would immediately withdraw his wards.
Speaking to Naa Dedei Tetteh on Starr Today Mr Appiah said “for me, the school is not even conducive, the school does not have the interest of children. And if I were, any other parent I’ll withdraw my children from that school. This is because that school does not seek the protection of the children.” “They are not interested in the welfare of children.
If we know what goes into the development of children and we know how some of these things play out in their minds. And how they conceive ideas in their developmental stages, we would not put the children in these kinds of situations.”
He stressed “let’s even forget about what the parents say, let’s even forget about what their religious beliefs say, let’s even forget about what the school rules and regulation say, let’s look at the child that has been placed in the setup.
