On June 23, 2025, Ghana’s Parliament welcomed Hon. Jabulani Mabuza, Speaker of the House of Assembly of the Kingdom of Eswatini, for a high-level relationship-building visit hosted by Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin. The delegation’s arrival marked a concerted effort to strengthen dialogue, share experiences, and explore joint mechanisms for legislative collaboration between the two nations.
In discussions chaired by Speaker Bagbin, both leaders underscored their shared responsibility to serve citizens, ensure transparency, and safeguard national interests. They highlighted that, despite differing political structures, Ghana and Eswatini are united by common African heritage and the urgent need to project the continent’s collective voice in global forums.
The Eswatini delegation toured Ghana’s Parliamentary Service Board to examine institutional frameworks, procedural efficiencies, and capacity-building initiatives. Emphasis was placed on adopting best practices for legislative drafting, committee oversight, and stakeholder engagement—paving the way for future reforms and enhanced parliamentary effectiveness in both countries.
The visit concluded with an exchange of cultural gifts and a mutual pledge to formalize ongoing cooperation through technical workshops, staff exchanges, and joint advocacy on continental issues. Both parliaments reaffirmed their commitment to democratic governance, accountability, and regional integration as cornerstones of Africa’s development agenda.
