In a significant health initiative, the Bobobee Royal Youth, a non-profit organization based at the Chief Palace in Adidokpoe-Battor, successfully conducted free medical screenings for more than 200 elderly individuals, women, and children. This event took place in collaboration with MK Laboratories, Dela Radio, and the Municipal Directorate of Health, aiming to address the healthcare needs of vulnerable community members.
The screening event served a dual purpose: it not only provided essential medical consultations but also aimed to identify existing gaps within the local healthcare system. Mr. Lovelace Edzor Kwadzo Bobobee, a representative from MK Laboratories, expressed their commitment to supporting the health needs of the community. He emphasized that the initiative was a way to give back to the residents who host their operations in both Madina, Accra, and Battor.
During the outreach, the team recognized significant health service deficiencies, noting that many residents depend solely on the Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound located in a nearby town. Mr. Bobobee described the reliance on distant facilities as troubling, particularly for a population that includes a large number of elderly individuals and youths who require more accessible healthcare.
To combat these challenges, MK Laboratories is actively seeking partnerships to establish a modern healthcare facility in Battor. This development aims to enhance healthcare access for the local population.
In addition to the screenings, the organization plans to distribute health test kits monthly, allowing residents to perform self-tests for blood pressure, blood sugar, diabetes, and other health conditions. Those who participated in the screening expressed their gratitude towards MK Laboratories and its partners for their dedication to improving community health.
