In a significant development for regional leadership events, Ghana is preparing to host the 12th District 94 Toastmasters International Conference in 2026. The event, themed ‘Lead With Purpose, Speak to Impact,’ is scheduled to take place from April 29 to May 2, 2026, in Accra.
This prestigious gathering will attract over 500 delegates from more than 12 West African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia, as well as participants from Central Africa, Europe, and the broader global diaspora. The event will kick off at Destiny Arena, with various sessions spread across key venues in Accra.
The conference aims to serve as a premier platform for leadership development, addressing themes such as the rise of artificial intelligence, cultural shifts, and geopolitical changes. Attendees will benefit from keynote speeches, leadership workshops, and strategic networking opportunities, all designed to enhance communication and leadership skills.
District Director Fatou Sakho expressed excitement about the event, emphasizing the convergence of diverse cultures and ideas in Accra. Conference Chair Dr. Suzy Aku Puplampu highlighted the honor for Ghana to host such a significant event, marking it as a testament to the growing influence of Toastmasters in Africa.
Program Quality Director Ibrahim Sory Keita noted the importance of extending Ghana’s renowned hospitality to international attendees. The conference will culminate in high-profile speech contests and a gala night, celebrating exceptional public speaking and leadership across the region.
Prominent figures from the business and professional community, including Chief Alhassan Andani and Julian Opuni, are expected to participate, making the 2026 conference a pivotal event for fostering leadership and communication excellence in Africa.
