Gomoa Central MP, A Plus, Reveals Attempt to Silence Him by NPP with Job Offer

Kwame Asare-Obeng, widely known as A Plus and the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, disclosed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) tried to silence him by offering him a government position. A Plus shared his experience during an appearance on Channel One TV’s “Upside Down” on Sunday, May 4.

A Plus recounted that the party believed his outspoken nature would wane once he assumed the role. However, his willingness to openly criticize the government led to his appointment being terminated.

“The issue with the NPP was that they provided me with a job expecting me to stay quiet since I was now ‘eating.’ But they never mentioned this expectation when offering me the position. Personally, I prioritize speaking out over staying silent,” A Plus explained.

He detailed that his role was tied to oil lifting at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST). Nonetheless, his continued government criticism quickly became a problem for party officials.

“Just a month or two into the role, they said I was too vocal, and they terminated the job. I only received one month’s pay,” he added.

In related news, A Plus has expressed long-term support for the NDC and praised Mahama’s intentions.
