KNUST confers Bachelor of Law degrees on 35 graduates of COSAE

Sunyani, Oct. 30, GNA – Thirty-five students have graduated from the Sunyani campus of the College of Science, Arts and Education (COSAE) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The pioneer graduating class successfully passed and fulfilled all requirements to be awarded with Bachelor of Law degrees, after going through a three-year programme.

Speaking at the first congregation of the College held in Sunyani on Friday, Nana Ansah Adu Baah II, the President of the College explained it was established in 2016 to enable students to blend academic work with social life and also provide access to legal education for interested students.

He said the College was working on five-year strategic plan, saying plans were far advanced to rename the College and turn it into a fully-fledged university in the coming years.

Nana Baah, also the Paramount Chief of Yamfo and the President of the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs said the College admitted 117 students in the 2020/2021 academic year, representing 21 per cent increase.

He expressed appreciation to the KNUST for mentoring the College and hoped the graduates would excel in their endeavours to sell the image of the College.

Dr. Owusu Dapaah, the Moderator of the College explained 15 of the graduates applied and sat for the Ghana School of Law examination and three of them passed to gain admission to pursue professional law course.

Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the KNUST who conferred the degrees on the graduates asked the College to adhere to affiliation agreement and standards to preserve the integrity of the KNUST.
