Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, aka Shatta Wale be a free man today after the court grants self recognizance bail.
They grant him bail to the sum of Ghc100,000 after police arrest him and other two persons last week for allegedly spreading false information that someone shoot him. The police charge Shatta Wale with the publication of false information which also includes causing fear and panic. Accra Circuit court last week Thursday fail to grant him bail, instead, he and his accomplice were placed in prison custody for 5 days. Ghana Police Service move the popular musician to the Ankaful Prison where he stay until a hearing today.

- Lawyer Yaw Oppong, say for such offenses, suspect if found guilty could get maximum 3 years jail term or caution.
- “Normally de maximum punishment is about 3 years. He can also be caution and fine” according to Mr. Oppong.
