The Ghana Police Service on Wednesday held a meeting with stakeholders of the creative arts industry at the National Police Headquarters Cafeteria Conference Room. The meeting which saw in attendance scores of showbiz personalities including Stonebwoy, Afia Schwarzenegger, Fameye, Kuami Eugene, KiDi, APlus, Samini and Bulldog was disrupted following an altercation between Shatta Wale and a police officer in the auditorium. An enraged Shatta Wale consequently stormed out of the meeting. According to the musician, a police officer was rude towards him, a situation that left him with no option but to retort. He told Joy Entertainment that he was discriminated against because although some attendees were allowed to film proceedings, a police officer ordered him to stop taking shots. He said: “I just saw people taking out their phones and nobody was talking to them so I felt ‘lemme just take my phone because Fred Amugi has been one of my greatest actors that I really want to be with, do a movie with. So, when he was talking, I felt what he was saying was so important to me that I had to keep it for myself. I took a video and one of the officers came and was like ‘phones are not allowed but people were taking pictures when I came so I felt like he was a bit rude.” Shatta Wale further mentioned that he was already not in the best of moods hence the obstruction triggered the anger. “From where I was even coming from, someone had stolen my hundred bags of cement and some organization had gone on before I got here so tempers were high”, he said. Meanwhile, Shatta Wale has apologized to the police for his actions. Rev Owusu Bempah was re-arrested as police prepare to press fresh charges
The General Overseer of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Reverend Owusu Bempah and two others who were earlier charged for the threat of death on Nana Agradaa have been re-arrested. This was after they were discharged by the Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday. State Prosecutors led by Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey asked the court to discharge the accused persons with an indication that plans were afoot to press new charges. Once the court granted this request, they were arrested. The prosecutors intend to file the new charges before the close of the day. The popular pastor and the two others, Bright Berchie and Mensah Ofori were on trial after they were arrested for issuing threats, brandishing weapons and attacking Police officers. The trio was subsequently granted bail in the sum of ¢200,000 two weeks ago with two sureties each. However, the prosecution in the case has substituted the charges and slapped the defendants with counts of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace and threat of death. The public prosecutor needs to separate the cases to ensure an efficient and swift trial. Again, the three pleaded not guilty to the new charges. The Accra High Court consequently granted the cleric a self-recognisance bail to the tune of ¢100,000, while the two others have been granted bail of ¢100,000 with two sureties each. Rev Owusu Bempah was also been granted ¢400,000 bails in the other case he and Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene, and Nathaniel Agyekum were charged for causing harm and unlawful damage to a police vehicle. Hilarious reactions as the company offer to pay people GHC17K monthly salary for sleeping
Gone are the days when staying in bed and sleeping all day was considered laziness but that has become a resource for which a company is seeking to employ people and pay them over GHC17K monthly salary which will amount to over GHC202K per year. Numerous reactions have greeted the job vacancy since it was advertised by LADbible, with many people expressing interest, saying it would not hurt being paid for what they already do for nothing. Identified as Crafted Beds, the luxury bed-making company is seeking mattress testers who will just be lying in bed but laugh to their banks at the end of the month. Successful applicants’ jobs will be testing different mattresses every week, taking notes and making assessments on their comfortability. The interesting part of it all is that the recruits “get to nap if you like, or watch Netflix, or do all of the things that someone might do in bed.” The job aims to help Crafted Beds make mattresses that offer the best comfort to its customers. “There’s a luxury bed company called Crafted Beds, and they’re currently accepting applications for a mattress tester. “That means that you could be earning £24,000 per year lying down, which is decent money for what you have to do. The role has been created to ensure that the company’s customers are getting the best mattress they can, which is important for a mattress company, obviously. “So, for your money, you’ll work a full 37.5 hour week, but you’ll be testing a different mattress each week, taking notes and making assessments on how comfortable they are. That will mean that you will get to nap if you like, or watch Netflix, or do all of the things that someone might do in bed,” LADbible posted on its official Instagram page.
