Curfew Lifted in Gushegu District Following Security Improvements

The government of Ghana has officially lifted the curfew in the Gushegu District of the Northern Region, citing significant improvements in the local security conditions. The decision, announced by the Minister for the Interior, follows an assessment by the National Security Council.

Authorities have encouraged local leaders, including chiefs and elders, as well as community members, to maintain peace and approach remaining challenges with non-violent solutions. Despite the lifted curfew, there remains a strict prohibition on carrying firearms or any offensive weapons within the district. Violators will face arrest and prosecution.

This development marks a positive step towards sustained peace in the region, as efforts continue to ensure stability and security for all residents.
