Popular Ghanaian musician, Barima Sidney, has revealed that he has been hit with a lawsuit for his ‘Papa No’ song which was recently released. According to him, the song which has gained massive play and popularity among Ghanaians who are reading different meanings into it has been tagged with some popular figures. Bewildered about the way that his melody was not aimed at anyone specifically, Sidney said the way that individuals joined photos of certain characters to his tune pulled in the lawsuit. “When I released this song, people were reading meanings into it. I never mentioned anybody’s name in the song. We are all looking for the ‘Papa No’ and we all don’t have any clue of him. All over social media, people were attaching some images to my song. Pictures of some high profile personalities like that of the former president Mahama who has nothing to do with the song was used. It’s not fair that I haven’t mentioned anybody’s name and yet I’ve been dragged to court. I know nothing about this and for that matter my management is releasing a press statement to that effect,” he stated in an interview on Okay FM. Sydney additionally took advantage of the chance to caution people in general to stop from connecting his melody with any character or picture. NPP foot soldiers have also embraced the song and using it clearly for political capital.
I travelled to Ghana to shoot Already music video with Shatta Wale – Beyonce
A lot of people have been doubting if it was the real Beyonce that shot Already music video with Shatta Wale. Some arguments seen on social media indicated that the person who shot the video with Shatta was Beyonce’s look-alike since it was impossible for the Queen to travel down to Ghana for just a video shoot. But from the horse’s own mouth, Beyonce talking exclusively her Black Is King film on which Shatta Wale has been featured said she came down to Ghana to shoot the video. Other countries where she went aside Ghana is Johannesburg, London, Belgium, and one other place. Beyoncé hoped this film would shape the global perception about the word ‘Black’.
