In a recent turn of events, media figure Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has publicly challenged the integrity of Prophet Kofi Oduro following a provocative video that circulated over the weekend. In the footage, Oduro appealed for understanding towards Prophet Bernard ElBernard after his prophecy predicting Kennedy Agyapong’s victory in the NPP primaries fell short.
This appeal sparked a wave of criticism on social media, with many users accusing Oduro of hypocrisy. They highlighted that while he defended ElBernard, he had previously criticized another prophet, Rev Kusi Boateng, for a similar prophetic failure.
In response to the backlash, Afrifa-Mensah released his own video, questioning Oduro’s motives and credibility. He labeled Oduro as hypocritical, asserting that his defense of ElBernard was politically motivated, given his past harsh remarks towards Boateng.
Afrifa-Mensah stated, “The hypocrisy within our society is glaring. When ElBernard’s prophecy didn’t come true, we’re urged to forgive him because he has connections. Yet, Rev Kusi Boateng faced severe backlash for a comparable failure. This inconsistency is troubling.”
The media personality further accused Oduro of being more politically inclined than spiritually guided, suggesting that he should openly declare his affiliations with political figures, including Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, with whom he allegedly has ties.
“Kofi Oduro is not a genuine prophet; he is a deceiver. His primary interest lies in political shifts rather than spiritual guidance for the Ghanaian people,” Afrifa-Mensah asserted.
This ongoing discourse highlights the tension between prophetic declarations and accountability, as public figures navigate their roles in the political landscape.
