Prominent Ghanaian Prophet Suspends Political Prophecies After Misfire

In a significant turn of events, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, the head of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, has announced his decision to temporarily cease making public prophecies related to national and political issues. This announcement follows his unsuccessful prediction regarding the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

The prophet had confidently stated that Kennedy Agyapong, a former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, would clinch the NPP flagbearership. However, the outcome did not align with his forecast, prompting ElBernard to issue a public apology on January 31, 2026.

In a statement shared via social media, he expressed his commitment to humility and accountability, explaining that this pause is a proactive measure to enhance the integrity of his ministry and the prophetic process. He emphasized, “This decision is not a retreat from my calling but a conscious effort to reinforce accountability and discernment in my prophetic declarations.”

ElBernard elaborated that this hiatus from public prophecies would be accompanied by a break from public teaching and preaching, allowing him time for prayer, reflection, and consultation with spiritual mentors. He stressed the importance of ensuring that prophetic messages are accurately received and conveyed.

He affirmed his dedication to his ministry, stating, “While I take this time for introspection, I remain committed to my personal prayer life and pastoral duties, with a focus on growth and integrity.”

ElBernard acknowledged the trust placed in him by his followers, expressing gratitude for their understanding and support during this reflective period. The recent NPP primaries saw Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President, achieve a decisive victory over his rivals, a result that starkly contrasted with ElBernard’s earlier predictions.
