In a significant move, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, the founder of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, has declared a temporary suspension from preaching duties. This decision follows his recent public apology and commitment to accountability regarding an unfulfilled prophetic declaration.
During a church service on February 1, 2026, ElBernard addressed his congregation, emphasizing his adherence to the principles outlined in his book, School of Prophecy. He pointed out a specific chapter titled “When prophets miss it,” which details the necessary steps a prophet should undertake when a prophecy fails to materialize.
ElBernard, whose book was published in 2025, expressed that his actions are rooted in his long-standing values of integrity and responsibility as a spiritual leader. “I do not seek sympathy from my congregation; rather, I value accountability,” he stated, stressing the need for his church members to hold him to the standards he preaches.
In his address, he informed the congregation that he has already initiated the accountability process by issuing two key statements: a public apology and a formal declaration of accountability, which he believes encapsulate his commitment to transparency.
Recognizing that reactions to his missed prophecy may vary, ElBernard reassured his followers of his dedication to the church and its community. He announced that he would refrain from preaching for an unspecified number of weeks, although he would still attend services during this time.
“I understand that I cannot predict how you will respond to this situation. I am not demanding that you stay or leave, but I am choosing to step back in a spirit of humility,” he explained. He also reflected on the importance of maintaining faith and self-identity, urging his congregation to uphold their belief in God and themselves despite the circumstances.
As he concluded his message, the prophet reminded his followers of the core Christian values he has imparted throughout his ministry, reinforcing his commitment to return to the pulpit when the time is right.
