In a bid to alleviate economic hardships, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled a new manifesto featuring five significant social interventions. These initiatives are designed to ease the financial burdens on Ghanaians and foster economic stability.
The first major intervention is the introduction of a comprehensive free health insurance scheme. This initiative aims to cover all essential medical services, ensuring that Ghanaians have access to healthcare without financial strain.
Secondly, the NDC promises to provide free education from kindergarten through to the senior high school level. This policy seeks to reduce the financial barriers to quality education, enabling more children to complete their schooling.
The third intervention involves the implementation of a subsidized housing program. This program is intended to make affordable housing more accessible to low- and middle-income families, addressing the housing deficit in the country.
Additionally, the NDC plans to launch a free and extensive vocational training program. This initiative is aimed at equipping young people with skills that will enhance their employability and contribute to economic growth.
Lastly, a significant focus will be placed on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through grants and low-interest loans. This measure is designed to stimulate business growth and job creation within the local economy.
These proposals reflect the NDC’s commitment to improving the socio-economic conditions in Ghana through targeted and impactful policies.
