Ghana’s Black Queens have achieved a notable advancement in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, ascending to 59th place from their previous 62nd position. This progress underscores the team’s recent performances and a consistent upward trajectory on the global stage, indicating a rejuvenated vigor within the squad.
The upward movement in rankings is a testament to the strategic efforts aimed at fortifying the team as they strive to ascend to the highest echelons of international women’s football.
Regionally, the Black Queens maintain their stronghold as one of Africa’s premier teams, currently positioned third in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) rankings. This places Ghana among the continent’s frontrunners in women’s football, affirming the team’s robust competitive legacy.
The improved ranking is set to bolster the team’s confidence as they gear up for the forthcoming Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which also doubles as the qualification tournament for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup.
