In a thrilling playoff showdown, the Boston Celtics emerged victorious over the Philadelphia 76ers with a final score of 108-100, pushing them ahead to a 2-1 series lead. Friday night’s game was marked by clutch performances from Boston’s core players, showcasing their experience and resilience in the final moments.
Jayson Tatum sealed the game with a decisive 3-pointer, but it was Jaylen Brown who set the stage for victory with a crucial stretch earlier in the fourth quarter. Brown was instrumental, contributing to a 10-point surge that stabilized Boston’s offense during a critical phase. His efforts included a pivotal steal and assist, followed by eight consecutive points that kept the Celtics ahead.
Both Tatum and Brown finished the game with 25 points each, demonstrating their offensive prowess. Despite the Celtics committing 17 turnovers, their shooting efficiency, including 20 successful three-point shots out of 47 attempts, was a key factor in their win.
Payton Pritchard also played a significant role coming off the bench, adding 15 points and maintaining a strong plus/minus rating alongside Jordan Walsh. Boston’s defense was equally commendable, as they outrebounded Philadelphia 45-37 and restricted the 76ers despite their balanced scoring from all starters.
Philadelphia’s Tyrese Maxey led all scorers with 31 points, but his efforts were not enough to overcome Boston’s collective team performance. The Celtics’ ability to perform under pressure was evident as they secured the win, proving once again their familiarity and comfort in high-stakes situations.
